Pekanbaru, the capital of Riau province and a major economic hub in eastern Sumatra, faces high population density due to its vibrant daily economic activities. The Metropolitan Sanitation Management Investment Project (MSMIP) is designed to address this by providing a centralized wastewater treatment facility in the Rejosari area, Tenayan Raya, Pekanbaru. With a capacity of 8,100 m³/day, the facility processes domestic wastewater and discharges treated effluent into the nearest receiving water body, the Sail River. The treatment plant also accommodates waste from vacuum trucks, ensuring comprehensive sanitation coverage.
The FBAS technology-based wastewater treatment plant in Pekanbaru stands as one of the priority projects, offering a centralized solution for wastewater management across the entire Pekanbaru region.
